The bright leaves of autumn may look beautiful; but when the fall comes and they pile up on the ground they can be a real chore for gardeners. Clearing leaves off the lawn prevents suffocation, letting it rest and breathe for a healthy spring; so it's worth taking some time to gather them all up.
If you don't want a tough work-out with a manual rake, a quick and easy way to clear leaves off the lawn is to simply run over them with a lawn mower.
The lawn mower must have good suction power and be a collecting model (with a box or bag).

Turn collected deciduous leaves into valuable leaf mould; shredding them first will speed decomposition. Put leaves in a black plastic sack and water them if dry to help them rot. Secure the sack loosely and punch holes in the side. Leave it for a year or two (preferably in a cool spot), and your seasonal waste will become enviable leaf mould.
